Assistant Manager / Client Manager

UK Accounting & Quality Review. Lead and support accounting work for UK clients while guiding the team and maintain quality service.

About the Role

This is a senior position responsible for overseeing the work delivered to UK clients, supporting and guiding the team, and ensuring all work is completed to UK practice standards. You will act as the main internal point of contact for technical accounting queries, review work before it goes to clients where required, and support the team in managing deadlines and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts prepared for UK clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant UK accounting standards.
  • Review and quality-check team members’ work to ensure it meets the required UK practice and client service standards.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to junior and senior team members on UK accounting and bookkeeping processes.
  • Support the preparation and review of year-end accounts, working papers, and responses to accountant queries.
  • Monitor deadlines and workflows to ensure work is completed accurately and delivered to clients within agreed timelines.
  • Provide internal technical support and guidance on UK accounting and bookkeeping matters.
  • Liaise with the UK team on technical, workflow, and client-related matters to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Monitor team performance, workload, workflow, and productivity, ensuring work is effectively managed and appropriately allocated.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
  • Strong practical knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT returns, management accounts, year-end accounts, and working papers.
  • Good understanding of UK accounting practice workflows, processes, and client expectations.
  • Proficiency in accounting and document management platforms, including Xero, QuickBooks, Dext, and Hubdoc.
  • Previous experience in reviewing and quality-checking the work of other team members is highly desirable.
  • Experience in team supervision, leadership, coaching, or staff training will be an advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Confident in communicating professionally with UK-based clients, accountants, and internal teams.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and accountable, with the ability to manage responsibilities independently and meet deadlines.

Senior Accounts Executive

A hands-on accounting role covering bookkeeping, VAT returns, bank reconciliations, and management accounts for UK clients.

This role is ideal for an accounting professional looking to build their experience in UK accounting while working with modern cloud-based accounting technologies.

About the Role

The Internship – UK Accountancy programme aims to provide practical, hands-on experience in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and UK compliance processes. Interns will work alongside experienced accounting professionals and gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of UK clients operating across multiple industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with day-to-day bookkeeping activities for multiple UK-based clients using cloud accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks.
  • Process invoices using publishing software such as Dext and Hubdoc.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Organize and maintain digital financial records and supporting documents.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing VAT returns, Management Accounts and Year-End accounts.
  • Support the preparation of working papers and financial reports.
  • Assist in other UK Tax such as Machine Games Duty (MGD), Corporation Tax (CT), and Self-Assessment (SA) assignments.
  • Gain exposure to accounting processes across a diverse portfolio of UK businesses operating in multiple industries.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate client records and ensuring compliance with UK accounting and tax requirements.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team on routine finance, compliance, and administrative tasks.
  • Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete, and up to date.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A final-year undergraduate in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or a recent graduate looking to gain practical industry exposure.
  • Students currently pursuing ACCA, CIMA, AAT, or an equivalent professional qualification are encouraged to apply.
  • A basic understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping concepts.
  • Good analytical and numerical skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop practical accounting skills.
